NCM has started off the 2010-2011 school year with a schedule full of philanthropy events, community involvement, and, of course, partying.

Alumni Weekend

Last weekend was Rollins' alumni weekend. About thirty Non Compis Mentis alumni came! The current active sisters hosted a Tea and Tour open house on Saturday afternoon, which was a huge success. The alumni also bought us light blue NCM t-shirts that have a portion of Robert Frost's poem, 'The Road Less Traveled,' along with an illustration on the back. On Friday evening, we had a photo shoot with all the current sisters and the alumni that came, and then ordered Domino's for dinner, and went to Spatz, a local bar. On Sunday, there was a brunch at Dexter's. Overall, it was a fun weekend, and it was awesome to meet and reconnect with NCM alumni.

Lip Sync!

On Wednesday, March 24, members of the NCM 2010 pledge class, along with four older sisters, performed at the Rollins Lip Sync Competition. Although some girls decided to join Delta Zeta, everyone stuck together and appeared as a united front. Danielle Abbey, Nikki Crewe, Alexis Goolkasian, Danielle Gumina, Alyssa Howe, Sara McFadden, Rosie O'Meila, Morgan Williams, from the 2010 pledge class, along with Louisa Gibbs, Julie Katz, Sarah Maisano, and Ashley Schneider, worked hard for several weeks to put together this phenomenal performance. Unfortunately, Natalie McIntosh and Ashley Malans suffered last minute illnesses and were not able to perform.
The dance, choreographed by Sarah Maisano and Julie Katz, was centered around the theme "Bad." It included the songs "I Wanna Be Bad" by Willa Ford, "Bad Romance" by Lady GaGa, "Bad to the Bone" by George Thorogood, "Good Girls Go Bad" by Cobra Starship, and "Bad" by Michael Jackson. It was an energetic piece that ended with three cheerleading stunts and each flyer holding up a sign. The side flyers held signs that said "Who's" and "Bad" while the middle flyer held a sign that said "NCM & DZ."
Kappa Delta won the competition with the theme KD GaGa, X Club placed second, and Chi Omega (Pop Royalty) placed third.

Transition

During the 2009-2010 academic year, NCM explored the possibility of merging with a national sorority. After a very long, emotional process, everyone got what they wanted, pro-national sisters became Delta Zetas and pro-local sisters remained NCM.

On Sunday, March 21 the members of NCM who decided to join Delta Zeta were pinned as new members of DZ, ending their time as active NCM sisters.

This was also the date of NCM elections. New position holders:

NCM Blog

Hello all!
This is the blog for Non Compis Mentis. The idea of this blog is to having kind of an evolving record of the activities of the sorority, so future members can look back and see what NCM was like.

Here is a general overview of NCM: Non Compis Mentis was founded in 1970 and is the oldest local sorority in the Southern region of the United States. Known on the Rollins College campus as NCM, Non Compis Mentis strives to provide its sisters with an unconditional family environment, which promotes individuality and leadership through positively impacting the Rollins and surrounding communities. Together, the sisters of NCM support each other’s autonomy, allowing the sisters to mold their organization as they see fit while being a part of a fun social sisterhood.
